Definitely running a lot smoother this morning than it has been recently. Good work so far Chris

The bots exactly how a normal visitor would appear, which is the problem with blocking them.

Review country of origin and also if they are from datacenters. Firewall blocking datacenters has greatly stopped bot attacks.

Almost exactly what's in place here now. I'll shoot you across a PM with a bit of info.
I Did recommend a host to Ryan Loos did he ever talk to you about it/ They are very good. I will not name them here, however.
It's got little to do with the host, as I understand it, and a lot more to do with the bots/constant DDoS, which I told you in the PM, from memory.

Anyway, I'm sure Chris will sort it out - he's very talented. Smile

But will that block those of us that WGET directly from our servers?

MyBB should move it's downloads to a CDN anyways. Cheap, more reliable, and efficient.

They already are, all releases since 1.6.5 have been hosted on the github CDN. We started doing this after the issues with 1.6.4.

MyBB.com/download/latest simply redirects to the package on github, all of which can be viewed here: https://github.com/mybb/mybb16/downloads

Ok, Thanks for the reply. Let's hope they got a good firewall then.

Ever consider also using a CDN for the site as well like Cloudflare or Edgecast???? That would help a lot.

That's up to Chris. He is certainly aware of it as an option though so I'm sure he has his reasons for not using one thus far.
