Yes I know about that as I have a mybb backed forum already. But this one is for a certain moderator group and wonder how to get chat in it in the process.

I tried to set up a forum through the icyboard and keep getting this message over and over:

Quote:Error: Your forum name may only contain letters, numbers, and the underscore (_).

I tried using this this as my forum name:

Science Papers and used the URL in it as well without it and get the same error message anyway what am I missing?

"Science Papers" contains a character that is not a letter or number (the space). I actually need to update that message, I don't believe the underscore is allowed anymore. It's going to issue you a subdomain with what you put in and "science papers.icyboards.net" is not a valid subdomain.
Huh?

I did exactly the same at another free forum and it worked fine just now using the word Science Papers there as I tried to do at your place.

Oh well thank you for your time and effort in all this.

You can't have a space in a subdomain... You can enter http://sciencepapers.icyboards.net and change the board name to "Science Papers", but you cannot have http://science papers.icyboards.net. A space is not a valid character in a domain name.
You have small typo on your "Create a Free Forum" page. Under the Forum Name field it says
Quote:Your URL will be http://<formname>.icyboards.net
<formname> should be <forumname>. Obviously its nothing big I just thought I'd point it out.

Thank you very much for pointing that out. It's been resolved.
