This seems crazy - what could be different at my end?

Can I have access to your board at admin level?
Do you have your email address set?
Interesting - I wonder if I have task.php missing from my footer template?

Not quite sure if looking at the right thing, or how task.php is invoked - but this is what I found in my current theme's footer template (and in fact every installed theme's footer):

<!-- The following piece of code allows MyBB to run scheduled tasks. DO NOT REMOVE -->{$task_image}{$naoar_copyright}<!-- End task image code -->

{$auto_dst_detection}

</div>

</div>

It looks to me like that piece of code in footer templates has been globally altered by the "Naoar Donation" plugin. Is everything that should otherwise be there still there?
I would not have thought that would affect it - however, you can try this code in your template:

			<div id="copyright">
				<div id="debug"><debugstuff></div>
				<!-- MyBB is free software developed and maintained by a volunteer community.
					 It would be much appreciated by the MyBB Group if you left the full copyright and "powered by" notice intact,
					 to show your support for MyBB. If you choose to remove or modify the copyright below,
					 you may be refused support on the MyBB Community Forums.

					 This is free software, support us and we'll support you. -->
{$lang->powered_by} <a href="http://mybb.com/" target="_blank">MyBB{$mybbversion}</a>, &copy; 2002-{$copy_year} <a href="http://mybb.com/" target="_blank">MyBB Group</a>.{$naoar_copyright}<br />
				<!-- End powered by -->
				<br />
<br class="clear" />
<!-- The following piece of code allows MyBB to run scheduled tasks. DO NOT REMOVE -->{$task_image}<!-- End task image code -->
{$auto_dst_detection}
		</div>
		</div>
Will play around a bit with that tomorrow evening to see if any difference - 3:30 am here & I am supposed to start work in 6 hours! Many thanks, and please do let me know if any other possible causes occur to you in the meantime...

Well, tried the 'vanilla' footer template, set daily digest to run every minute, then went actively poking around reading posts on my forum for several minutes - still no digest received, though still task log records tasks successfully running.

Apart from lack of active users browsing, are there any other things that can prevent tasks from running yet allowing the log to record that they have run?
I don't know myphp, but am wondering how exactly the -->{$task_image}<!-- End task image code --> ' bit is calling the 'task.php function' in the footer template?
Hi - just wondering if any progress with this? I have upgraded forum to 1.6.9, and gone back to vanilla theme - still not getting any digest emails, though tasklog still shows task sucsessful
I would be willing to pay or contribute $ to have this plugin working and supported.
Hi Leefish. I found that suddenly this started working - with no input on my part. Presumably something was changed by my ISP, or by another plugin that had been blocking these but not other system generated emails.

A rather large problem with these messages though - emails are supposed to be HTML yet all arrive as plain text, and show the header information and html codes. Basically gobbledygook to the average user.

Is this the parsing issue you mentioned, or more serious? Is this happening for you? What could be causing this? More importantly, how do I fix it?
Further digging reveals that my AdminCP/Users & Groups/Mass mail is working perfectly, and this seems to be invoked when sending daily digests, so there seems to be something quite specific to mailsumary.php that is going wrong when assembling the message to be sent?

emails from this function are being received without subjects, without parsing of header info or html, and even using a different apparent sender address on a domain I think is only meant to be used internally by servers at my ISP each time (Not up with email delivery theory, but am guessing that whatever is preventing the parsing of the mail header info is leaving this intermediate internal address as the 'sender')

Below are contents of one such email.

Why are emails generated by daily digest so unlike massmail emails, if sent using the same functions?

Is there something flaky with the database query or scripting used to assemble and submit messages?

I never saw this - it sounds like you might be missing a file or something.
