You can use with https website. I just said the api cannot be accessible via https.
The plugin just do a file('http://ip-api.com/....') to get localisation and store it, so you never display the ip-api ip, it totally transparent for your front-end.

I tested it on my unpublic board. If you can implement what you wrote above it will be great, until thaz I have to wait because it is quite difficult to force to all isers on my liveboard
And now version 1.5, which reactivate the UCP page when auto-location is enable.
Think to deactivate & reactivate plugin if you where using the version 1.4.2, think to also go to "ACP > Configuration > User map" and select the "Update DB" if you were using an older one.
Important notice : admins who enable the auto-location must advertise the users of this feature.

Anything else planned? I would like to see a setting to hide location - give to user an option and decide on his own
I have a great positive feedback from users with a new version, yeah there are few which wanna hide their locations, but an overall feedback is great!
If I find time, I can peharps add the feature "hide my location", disabled/enabled by admin when auto-location is enabled.

Just one issue with XThreads - 1.5 is not compatible... please can you fix it, because XThreads is quite popular.
