IMO something that small doesn't really need a setting.
What will we have settings for next, options for quote buttons disable/enable?
Exactly... if you really don't like the little paperclip you can just remove it in forumdisplay_thread_attachment_count, probably just remove that one line of code and it's goodbye paperclip. A setting to do something as simple as that isn't needed.

It already is a feature in 1.4.

The more settings there are, the less user friendly MyBB becomes. A lot of people like the paperclip (I wasn't aware it told you how many attachments) its usful. As Matt_ said, if somebody really don't like it they can just remove the line of code from the templates.

I you remove it, I'll include it in my Attachments Popup plugin.
