Look what they are based on. OS's like ReactOS, that you can say that about.

Not exactly. Linux is based off of Unix whereas Windows is not.
Linux has also been around a LOT longer. MS released Windows in '93(I'm referring to Windows 3.1, NOT DOS), Linux was released in 1991, and unix has existed since the dawn of time.
1969 was when it was first used by AT&T
I just read up on this thread. I thought this was going to be a Mac Vs. Windows thing, didn't expect Linux.
Well Mac really is a dip between Linux and windows.
