i dont know a plugin works like that but "search in forums" or "search in threads" can give an idea...

once, i've added the tags, will the plugin automatically save all new tags?

how exactly does the tagging work? does it just take all text from the forum and indexes it somehow? just curious

When you create a new thread (or edit an existing one) a text box appears where you enter the thread's tags (separate each tag with a comma). In the automatic mode, it also takes all the words of the thread's title as tags.
