Hi there,
I want to integrate myBB into my wordpress site, but the problem is my site already has a membership system in place. If I integrate myBB into my website, there will be two membership systems...one for my site and one for myBB? Is it possible to integrate myBB to my site so both my site and myBB will share the same membership database/system...? ie. members of my site log into the forum with the username/password generated from my site.......no need to create a different username/password for the forum. My site is postdocATGC.com. I know it's possible because I see that biocompare.com has a forum in place and people only need to register once to be a member of the site + the forum. Please help. Thanks.
Does this still work today?
I see no reason for this to no work, unless you want to use it on WP or any other software.

I see no websites showing this still works.
Never mind, this tut is outdated anyways.
detailed tutorial. thanks
This does not really work for me.
I only installed the forum and added the needed lines at the top of my website code.
$mybb->user gives me
array(6) {
  ["usergroup"]=>
  int(1)
  ["username"]=>
  string(0) ""
  ["uid"]=>
  int(0)
  ["displaygroup"]=>
  int(1)
  ["lastvisit"]=>
  int(1343127055)
  ["ismoderator"]=>
  bool(false)
}
So yeah. I can't check if I am logged in (I am) because it returns ID 0. Quite funny that it returns a timestamp, though.

Any idea?
You need to set your cookies settings correctly if outside the forum root.
