What are you having an issue with, the google seo plugin, or the custom page?
The custom page, I followed the instructions though it's the same as it was.

Well after enabling the custom 404 in the plugin, the custom page still didn't view, instead it still just said that the page doesn't exist.
Are you still using google SEO? Does it just say "this specified thread does not exist" or does it show a search box for your site, along with a message along the lines of does not exist? Did you upload the modified functions.php, and the modified .htaccess?
