This plugins automatically creates a new thread in a specified forum whenever a new event was created in one of the specified calendars.

Features
  • Configurable target forum
The board administrator can specify in which forum the new threads should be created by entering the forum id (fid) in the plugin settings.
  • Configurable calendars
The board administrator can specify the calendars that should be monitored for new events. This is a comma separated list of the calendar ids.
  • Force date/time format
The board administrator can set a date and time format for dates and times that always will be used in the created threads. If left blank the posters preferred date/time format will be used.
  • Linked thread
If enabled, the event details will redirect to the thread instead of the event details and moderation on the thread will also be applied on the event. When the user or moderator deletes the thread, the event will also be deleted. Thread approval and unapproval will also be applied to the event.
  • Templates with placeholders
The board administrator can adjust templates for both the subject and the message in the plugin settings. Templates can be set for three event types: single day events, ranged events and recurring events.

Screenshots aren't enough to show the functionality of this plugin so I created a small demo video. The annotations will explain a bit more what you are seeing.

The version on the mod site isn't compatible with MyBB 1.4. Starting from version 1.1 this plugin will both be compatible with 1.4 and 1.6. For now, 1.4 users can download the zip file attached to this thread. 1.6 users should download the version from the mod site.

For 1.6 download the version on the mod site, not the one in the attachment here like it is stated in the first post. The installation instructions are also included in the zip file. It's basically copying all the files + folder in the zip file to the inc/plugins/ folder.

Thank for the replies and rep Big Grin
Seems to be missing the closing ?> as shown

eventthread/lang/english/admin/eventthread.lang.php' does not end with ?>
very nice.

question though- is it possible to set up a specific forum for posting events and then have it automatically post to the calendar? much like you're doing with this plugin, but rather than creating the event in the calendar first, it would be created in a certain forum and then maybe force thread details like event title, date, time, location, etc.

The closing php tag is not required. It's even safer to leave the closing tag out to prevent extra space after that closing tag as this will be interpreted as output and this breaks session, cookies and other header manipulation.

The event creation form has a great set of functions to insert the date/time, repetition, ... So it would be double work trying to recreate that in the new thread form or parse the message for date/time settings. The new thread link in the target forum can be set to automatically redirect to the new event form so you don't have to go to the calendar first.
it not works for me.
when i try to activate the plugin it say i need the latest vertion mybb . but i already have lates vertion
