okay how would i do this?
i'm used to using IPB, and you can prevent users from accessing a forum/subforum, but they can still see that the forum exists, and can see the latest posts, but just cannot access it to read the forums.
On mybb, you just seem to be able to hide it from them all together, which i do not want to do.
I noticed there is a "open forum" feature that says you can add people to it, but i haven't figured out how. not sure if that'd work.
What i'm tryin to do is set up a special downloads forum for active members. I have an auto group promotion hat promotes the group once they reach 50 posts, and i only want that group to have access.
But still want guest and the normal users to see tat the forum does exist, and the latest posts on it. Just show up normal like other forums/subforums do, but it wont let them access it. This could make them wanna get the posts to access it.
Whats the best way to go about this on Mybb?

Guestion about users who can delete their own threads |

I'm editing groups right now, and i noticed that by default the REGISTERED group has the ability to delete their threads and posts.
Does this mean all the replies to their threads get deleted as well? is there a way to set a time limit that they must do this in?
other forums have it where they can delete it after x mount of minutes if there are no replies.
I'm very worried about this feature and the trouble that it could cause.
anyone know?

Hey, the regular uploading feature works just fine, but just to cut some slack for me, is there a mod to upload several images at once and making them thumbnails? I need this because what I'm working on, I have to upload an extensive amount of pictures, and this would make it wayy easier.

Hey guys,
I just started a new forum and had myBB 1.6 installed. Now I have an error when I try to access sub-forums or even look at members profiles i get an error like "Not Found
The requested URL public_html/member.php was not found on this server."
and also the same for "forumdisplay.php"
Does anyone know how to fix this error?
The temporary forum link is here: http://server1.hosting24.com/~zombieso/
Thanks!
Edit: also the files do exist as I checked on the ftp.
