Patched my forums, and wrote an announcement. Smile

Thanks Chris. Smile

Quick? Nope. MyBB were notified of this bad code at the end of March.

Sorry folks, but I'm now a disallusioned myBB user. Our board ranks very high in search engines. Hackers simply search for "Powered by MyBB", and a few minutes later our forums are deleted.

Headaches. We're not at the stage of doing hourly backups, but it is close.
Do this then: http://community.mybboard.net/showthread.php?tid=10234

It removes the "Powered By MyBB" text and replaces it with an image. That way the search engine doesn't cache it...
Updated all my forums. Thanks!
Wewt, thanks, I'll update now Smile
For those of you who have already applied this patch, it has come to our attention that two other small related issues have surfaced in 1.1.7 and all previous versions (posted publicly, we weren't contacted privately before the disclosure).

Please see the following post for more information and the other change necessary in 1.1.7: http://community.mybboard.net/showthread...8#pid69688

Done! Smile
If this was patched earlier why did it need to be done again?
Sorry if I am missing something. Wink
