I would guess it's a mod to the parser that proxies all links that don't start with https://.

hard to do?
I've not tried it. It shouldn't be too difficult I wouldn't think.
Euan is correct, and it's very easy to do. I would rather not share specific code, but I will say that I'm running it off of both the parse_message_end and showthread_linear hooks. All it does is look for non-https resources, urlencode them, and prefix them with the prox address. The proxy downloads, deduplicates, caches, and serves over https.
Must say that all of the new features, including this one, just show how much dedication that spork has for providing everyone free access to MyBB. Keep up the great work, and same with the developers of MyBB for developing this amazing piece of software.
I also started MyBB here! Now moved on to MY own!
IcyBoards has been updated to MyBB 1.8.7. We were a little behind with this one but made a few significant changes that needed proper development & testing time.

I'm not sure what you mean? There is no forum delete option.
I just wanted to provide a brief update two important points of our services:
1) As of February 10th, all forums have been upgraded to MyBB 1.8.10.
2) We have been offering browser encryption (TLS/https) on all forums since October 2015. As of February 14th, this option is now defaulted to "on" for new forums being created. Although it is highly discouraged, new forums will still have the option to disable encryption. More information on browser encryption can be found here.
