- What do you want to see in terms of moderation in 2.0?
- What really bugged you about 1.x moderation?
- What improvements would you make to the moderation control panel?
- What moderation features would make your life easier as a moderator / admin / board owner?
- What plugins do you always install to extend moderation in 1.x?

Please keep suggestions related to moderation.

Thanks!

Simple thing: Make Options in "Moderator CP" work too in common user like xenforo (img below).

I think mod notes within a post would be cool.

for example, if a mod/admin edits a post because something breaks the rules (or for whatever reason) the ability to leave a note for the post author about the edit would be nice.
mod notice
but each moderator can write own notice for each post
and 3 type of notice
warning
info
normal
I like the thread notes feature, but I think it would be more useful if you could easily see them when you're viewing a thread directly. This isn't something that everybody would need or want, but maybe it could be a setting to turn on and off if you want to see the thread notes on the show thread page.
@jshort I believe that's the case in 1.8 - don't they show at the top of the thread? They certainly do in the /me thread here

I'm not seeing it on my board. I checked the default theme and didn't see anything like this. Could be I'm just blind, or myBB is using a plugin that does it? I know one exists.
In the moderator tools section, you select "View/Edit Thread Notes". You'll then see a thread notes page. Adding notes there will then show the notes above the thread. I've attached some screenshots below from my live board running 1.8, with no additional plugins for thread notes Smile

It may be a new feature for 1.8. If you're using a theme that was converted from 1.6 it may be missing the variable or something possibly?
Displaying them on the top of threads makes them only slightly more useful though. These features would make them usable:
1. Informations about notes - author(s), date
2. Ability to make them either public or mod-only (and perhaps visible to mods and post author only as Shemo mentioned)
3. Per post instead of per thread. 1st post notes could be considered as thread notes.
1. Add a notice when a post is warned as explained above by martec.
2. Notify user when he received a warning (PM or notification). Sometimes I forget to check "Send a private message..." and user doesn't know about his warning.
3. Make moving posts to another thread easier. Currently I have to export posts to another thread and then merge two threads. Would be great to do this at once.
4. Mod Notice - it's supposed to be the most popular moderation plugin.
5. I've never used thread/user notes. We discuss all of these matters on our hidden forum. There could be an ability to turn them off.
