Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I can't blame him for wanting to be like me. I am after all that great and wonder that I should have fans just dying to see what I am going to do next and then imitate it. Bravo sir.
However I must say if you're going to make plugins for mybb you shouldn't wait till I take the time to make it. Why not just start making some right now? Mybb could use more original plugins from talented authors such as yourself.

Adding support for rel=canonical is also on the todo list for my Google SEO plugin - but I'm not taking the idea from labrocca, adding support for this was
suggested to me on the google webmasters forum, and I decided to
include this into Google SEO before labrocca released his plugin, and I didn't even know he was working on it, for me it was coincidence that he released his plugin a couple of days after I announced support for this in my own plugin...

I agree with the username being a bit suggestive, but the plugin name seems reasonable. What other name should he call it? All it does it two template replacements so there's really little scope for it here.
As for originality, very few things these days is "purely" original - including your SEO plugin and MyBB itself - the idea of a forum system long existed before MyBB came into existence, and the concept of SEO URLs in forums long existed before you made your plugin.
I do believe this guy has a funny intention but nevertheless, he's providing free alternatives for everyone (so you're not forced to signup and contribute somewhere in some way), not asking anything for it and isn't being abusive. If he wants to be this way, so be it, I see nothing wrong and in the end, MyBB users benefit, which is what we should be promoting.

So far he named himself "super labrocca" and named all his plugin "super <insert labroccas plugin name here>". If this was done by some other author it would probably be called "<insert author name here>'s canonical" or "Canonical Links" or whatever, not a super version of labrocca (basically claiming that he's better than labrocca).

You got that right, there is nothing super about this plugin. Giving it that name has only one purpose and that is ridiculing labrocca (esp. if you put it in context to his prior name and releases) but I'll leave it at that now, I guess labrocca can speak for himself if he so desires.

He named himself "super labrocca"? Interesting - got his name changed?
But the plugin name can be debatable. Examples, TabMix -> TabMixPlus; AdBlock -> AdBlockPlus. Both of these are made by separate authors, the "Plus" denoting what
they believe is a better version of the previous plugin.
If he believes his plugin is superior, then that's his belief, and "Canonical" has little identification by itself.
And besides, free > paid, so in that regards, it is better
I think he had "super_labrocca, super_labrocca1, super_labrocca2 and 3, but all of them got banned, so if this is him, idk why he didn't got banned again.
