My wife's playing WoW at the moment (when isn't she), so the connection itself is probably a bit higher.
After trying to upload a 4 GB ibdata1 file via SFTP on an 100 KB/s connection, I decided to hack my router a bit. Unfortunately, this didn't help my upload speed.

I set the encryption to WPA2-PSK [AES], set the channel to 1 from 6, and set the mode to b + g from g.
I did some other things too, but I don't think they had much affect.
And that gave you 10mb/s more

WPA2 does operate at faster rates than other encryption methods, but why wireless? Wireless is garbaggio imo.

I have six terminals dotted around my house. I'm planning on going 100% optical, but wireless is the best/only option for me currently.
I can use up to 20 GB of bandwidth per day depending on what I'm doing.

One thing you did was use a closer server for the second test. Distance affects speed.
Well my internet is working too slow so i cant show my speed test result
