You'll need to edit the recentthread_thread template and the recentthread template. Both of these can be found under Global Templates.
Is it possible to add it to portal page?
They can be displayed on the portal page without a plugin. ACP->Config->Portal Settings. Make sure show Latest Discussions is on. You can also set how many threads and which forums to exclude.
hmm, still doesn't work, even tried editing portal template still nothing.

Make sure in your portal template {$latestthreads} is there. If it still is, PM me an admin account and I will look into the issue for you.

Whenever it updates using the AJAX, it suddenly breaks everything. Why?
