Settings are currently set to only "banned" group can't see recent threads.

However, the guests can't view them either. Not sure whats going on because guests have access to see threads..

Fresh installation, no settings have been changed.

Guests can't see the recent threads despite permissions being set to allow it. Users who are logged in can see it. 

It's also showing a thread that doesn't exist (the thread was deleted so it shouldn't be on the recent list). 

Any idea how to fix this?

In version 1.8.37 I have installed Recent Posts Forum Index:

Is there a possibility to pin an important forum thread on place one on the screen and number 2 till 10 of the threads still changing?

Hello! It is possible to make this plugin show the latest posts in a sidebar or just in the header not in the footer?

I activated this plugin and now saw a lot of errors.

The original OP plugin works just fine.
Don't know why you are receiving errors.

I think it use some type of vars inside templates you only need to move on your desired location, i have not use this one but all plugins works similar.
