but UTF-8 have better compatibity with plugins...

You can set individual forums to ignore it.

Sorry tikitiki I dont want to write new requirements for 1.4 or something

this was just a Tip from my short personal experience with 1.2x plugins

I had chars bugs with iso-8859-1 and special chars using these 2 plugins and both plugin authors agree with me
