You can't collapse the notification or chat boxes...

You should add in a option in FBdock settings if you want new forum post to appear as a notification. Like {Username} name Posted a new thread. {Username} replied to {Thread Name}. Those are a few examples.

Either the CSS file was not created or the automatic template edits were not done because it didn't find a certain value in the template.

That could cause the notification to get huge if you have a busy board or if you were gone for a few days.
