If you already have plans for the new default theme, why not have 2 of them and do the design competition
Just a thought
Hm. I don't really like this idea.. We have Justin. S for themes

Still running 1.00 RC.
0.o isn't that like..VERY unstable?
You may have Justin S. for themes but you have others also willing to help theme for MyBB. They could all quit and let Justin take over though... :p
I really think this should be considered
Only thing i ask as far as this goes is that the online users browsing forums is moved to the bottom and done up like my example below.

Also would be nice to have the group colors show up on thread starter and last poster.

Whatever floats your boat but to be honest i prefer it the way it is

I don't like having to scroll to the bottom to find something that is semi-important, hence why it's at the top

(I'm assuming)

With larger sites though it can become a pain if your having to scroll past a ton of nics to get to the discussions which is what most ( outside of us owners / staff ) are looking for. Anyways just a suggestion. I would atleast close it off so it looks a little neater and not so sloppy and or cheesy looking.
ooo, MyBB version 2.0 ? great news
This isn't the first time it's been mentioned :|

Some people are now just catching on

(2009-03-10, 10:02 AM)_Tim Wrote: [ -> ]To be honest i cannot possibly think what could be added to 1.4 to make it worthy of the 1.6 title. Seriously, what major new features does 1.4 not have that would warrant a rewrite?
I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps just updating everything's looks (ex/ using divs instead of tables).
Read the ideas and suggestions sections. There's plenty of stuff that could be added.
Maybe I am ignorant but I trust that Mybb team will go forward with the project in a way that is positive. They got this far pretty well. What features are added and what rewrites are made is up to them and I think they do listen to us for the most part.
As an author of plugins a complete rewrite scares me and excites me at the same time. Mybb code has taught me a lot about php and whatever 2.0 looks like will probably also further my own knowledge. I am very weak in certain areas and studying good working code for examples imho makes things easier to understand and learn.
The work to rewrite plugins is a pain for sure but well...if it's neccessary than it is.
