really? I think 1.4 is better than vBulletin personally.

My point is how good something is depends on who ask.

1.4 is already better.
I agree, and we'll always try and beat the competition no matter what the version is. We're hoping 2.0 will make people go O_O though.
To be honest, I'm more excited about 1.6 than 2.0. 2.0 is so far off, and it's going to break compatibility with everything we have. Not to say I'm not excited about it -- I am, incredibly so, to see what the MyBB team comes up with -- but I'm looking forward to having a refined version of this great software to build on, first.

I'm assuming 1.6 will be supported quite a while after 2.0 launches due to the incompatibility issue ... at least, I hope so, because I will have a lot of custom work to transfer to 2.0 before I can use it.

As much as I dislike him, it'd be naive for me to describe the plugin and theme situation as particularly great.
I'm pretty satisfied plugins wise Toungue.
I would say that we have a pretty decent plug in list. There are over 250 plug ins on the mods page and not to mention people that have created a subscription service for plug ins.

Understand that to a certain extent, since not to lie, MyBB has one of the largest availabilities in free GOOD looking themes.

I assume it will be, 2.0 will probably have a very long beta period too, not only to make sure it's all working, but for people to start developing plugins and themes etc to make the transition smoother.
