Im still on version 1.2 and MyBB 1.6.8, just noticed there is an upgrade, since there seems to be no warning about updates in that version. I have seen some issues with this version and mybb 1.6.8, so is it working good?

Curious, but isn't getnew the same as getting unread posts ?
Get new is session based. So if you log in and there are 30 new posts, it shows as 30 new posts. Maybe you don't read them all at once, leaving 10 unread and logout and come back later. Those 10 unread posts are no longer "new" - so you don't see them on your next visit.
With this plugin the unread are just that - unread.

I added <!-- UNREADPOSTS_LINK --> to my template but it isn't counting unread threads...is there something else to add?

Have just installed this plugin and it's good when on the PC, so thanks.
But it APPEARS to have screwed up Tapatalk, whereby the unread threads, once read, continue to show as unread. (It's fine on the web.)
Now it MAY be a coincidence that just as I installed this plugin that Tapatalk decided to play up, so I'm asking here as part of my trouble shooting.
Thanks again for the plugin, although this should well and truly be a built-in function.
