Quote:Not Found

The requested URL /admin/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am getting this error, please don't flame me, to be very frank I don't know to CHMOD, i uploaded the whole mybb zip file to the web disk and then extracted the files to public_html , Installed the forum successfully but can't access the Admin cp

Help? Undecided
If it's a 404, it means it's not uploaded to the right place. Are you sure it's that error and not a Forbidden message??

I just get a white page... a 404 means the file isn't uploaded to the URL you're loading, nothing we can do about it, you'll need to make sure the files are uploaded to the right place.

Thanks for the help.
Good day!
Just did a new, fresh install for myBB for the first time. I would like to add that changing the "htacess.txt" file name to ".htacess" fixed the problem. Thank you!

you really should remove the product/token info from your http config so hackers cant easily see what versions of software you are running. make exploiting much easier for them
Ok, Talked to this guy from Hostgator on a live chat gave him my login infor for the site, and within seconds he sorted the problem for me. Smile
