We do have a few more features planned for 1.6. For example, MyBB 1.6.6 has the ability to login with your username or email.

MyBB 1.6 is just as important as 2.0 Wink

it would be nice to log in by userid as well but I would guess this idea maybe more open to abuse ..... but how nice to have a login id as a simple integer Huh
It would be harder to remember a uid, rather than an email address or username. It's not everyday I'm referred to as 27579.

It wouldn't be worth implementing imho.
Are there any plays to add a display name, for example my user name is adbrad, but my display name may be labradorforum and this would be what displays round the forum, I think it may be a cool feature, and completly optional from a user point.

Probably implementable as a plugin, and better done so. Reason being, either it's non-changeable (in which case one must remember both the username, for logging in, and the display name, if someone addresses one) or it potentially makes telling who's who harder, especially for a newcomer.

Not to mention I suspect it would be used on only a minority of installations.

However, this thread is not the place for discussing feature suggestions, so I'll be shutting up now.
Furthermore, people tend to use the same disp name as login name.

the primary use of a uid login would be for admin login uid would perhaps be a low number ( 1 ?) back in the 80's there was a bulletin board system that used uid log in and I found it perfect

Sad Nostalgia

An admin should and MUST remember his username AND email address in case he forgets the password and something..

What's wrong with using a username or email? Theoretically you could use any piece of information linked to the account, but what's the point?

Also not all administrators have low uids. Quite a few people have trouble remembering their username, forcing them to remember their uid too would be illogical.

A lot has changed in the last 30 odd years. I think that says enough.
