1.6 has to have at least another 11 updates before 2.0 can be released as .4 went up to 1.4.15 and on average 4 updates in a year 2.0 will be release in 3 years

Why use a language that is still under development and not finalized yet,that is very unprofessional.. If it was finished I would be begging for it in 2.0,but it isn't..

XenForo is an example, if you didn't know. It doesn't use the advanced tags, but still uses it.

The problem with your thought is there is no guarantee what time mybb 2 will be released. Secondly it does not matter how many people use html5 if it is not finalized and still in development it should not be used..
Not to mention alot of people still use web browsers that do not support all of css 2.1 ...
