I'm a minor and I'm still running websites. Been doing it for 4 years now. I've had a Debit card for about 8 years.
If you can buy domains online, and do it legally, why not? I buy domains with paypal or with Visa Gift Cards, all perfectly legal.
I use my real name online, but I don't give out things like addresses and phone numbers.
As long as you take precautions and are aware of who your interacting with, I see no problem with Minors using the web and creating websites.
Now that isn't me saying that there aren't a lot of immature kids online, because there are and they drive me nuts. I try to present myself with a little more class and maturity.
Now I'm curious, why is it wrong for children and adults to be on the same forum?
But by giving anyone under 18 the rights and tools about building a successful online business. These kids just needed somewhere to show them to the light of sucess, we as adults have to hold ourselves accountable while allowing these kids to build and do these things. Then ask yourslef, why in the hell did we teach them and how and why are they under age to operate there own buisness under the age of 18 online?
to add to the rest of you who purchase Domains you have to be 18 so how are you all able to purchase one if your under the age by law?

In the USA you can get a credit card when your 16, I can pretty much buy anything online. And again I have met tons of people online under 18 that are a lot brighter than adults.

When purchasing a Domain name registration and web hosting LEGALLY you do have to be 18 or older in North America. I just got off the phone with one and they said 18 BUT this might be different for other companies.

Actually i went looking for a while, i couldn't find a exact law. So if you didn't view any of the porn, you could legally run it.
It seems more and more today children are mastering the internet I agree, but to be quite honest, sites were designed mostly by adults for adults.
Very often adults like msyelf argue about whether to allow children to use sites or not. IF we Don't say anything or do anything then were allowing it to happen.
I think personally MyBB should consider a second Domain forum for kids to be ‘safe’, sorta like a special forum created entirely for children where children can communicate between themeselves together at MyBB.
Getting back to wether it is legal to run a online forum or site of legal age laws, again its Illegal without Parental Supervision. However this ongoing issue and problem that most kids arent watched by there parents so then how are we going to protect our kids if the parents arent there protecting there children?
My mom knows i own a site, she know's what it is, she don't mind is that good enough for you lol and if we separate the kids and adults that you will lose some great designers and plugin makers, i wouldn't be uprise if half the stuff will be missing cause of that...
