Plus, IIRC, didn't PHP5-only affect releases after 1.4?

Just to clarify, it will take effect with the next major release (i.e. MyBB 1.6), but all released (major, minor, patches, or maintenance) after 1.6.0 will have the PHP5 requirement

This does not seem to have happened in less they did it in such a way it looks and feels exactly like 1.4. But it was a good dream.
The wait shall be worth it and since my new years guess was wrong I'll guess it will be released in about 3 weeks.

They said 1.4 will be compatible with php<5.
And all releases after February will be only php5 compatible.
So the release will be someday in January.
No, we said all new major releases after 1.4 which are released after February will be PHP 5+ only. Even if 1.4 was released after February, it is exempt from the PHP 5+ regulation.
