beta 1.4 what time opener to us?

There's probably not going to be a public beta... I don't think they did a public beta with 1.2, so...
well i would say they will do all their testing privet so when it come public people can use it live,
One of the developers can correct me if i am wrong but i do not believe MYBB does public betas. They pick beta testers themselves and dont bother asking either. They go with ones who know the system well etc. Asking will get a quicker no. Once they get most ( if not all ) the bugs out then i *think* they do RC releases to the public. Kind of a good system as it helps to avoid alot of back and forth with bug reports that may have been reported etc and it it does help to keep people out of trouble with their own forums. I cannot count the number of people i have seen elsewhere you go straight to upgrading their forums to the betas and that is not wise as betas can have alot of bugs still that could break your forum. Then you end up having a support forum full of people who cant fix what they broke which keeps the developers too buisy trying to help them which slows down the process of fixing the bugs that have been found.
The only downside i could see is if they only have not enough people testing ( too few ) which could end up taking longer then need be to get the bugs out. Not sure of how many they do have so i cannot say.

Correct. We don't do public beta's for MyBB. Why? Because it would be pretty tough to fix bugs if we got a bunch of people reporting bugs that say "zomg I can't send a PM!!!!3132131." or "It says I don't have permissions to see forums even though everything is correct." which doesn't help us at all. The experienced 1) Know where to look 2) Know what to report and 3) Know if it is an actual bug or not. Which in the end saves us a lot of time
Talking of bugs, I need to chase that IIS7 bug up with Microsoft. They said they'd email me with the results...
The closest thing to a public beta is that beta testers in the past were given the code early to test on private forums.
