Is there a template(theme) change or will this upgrade just be for the ACP and under the hood stuff etc? In other words, will MYBB still look the same?

There maybe template changes to add the new features but I don't think there will be to many that will change the look for front end users.

Themes will need updating though.

There are a significant number of template changes in order to add all of the new features, fix bugs, etc., but there is not a new theme... there is, however, a new theme system.

Wasn't talk about an "alternate" theme announced back on MyBB Games (before it went AWOL)?

If there was, it was wrong There is no new theme under development for 1.4.

Is in MyBB 1.4 a new Standard Theme?

I mean, a other Standard-Theme as that from MyBB 1.2.
