There's already a plugin for it. And IMO, some people like it, so having that be a core feature would be bad.

I know all about the plugin as i use it. BTW i have never ran into anyone who cares for that. Most especially older people cant stand it. I think they get confused reading replies with 50 quoted quotes. LOL! Always 2 questions i always see pop up and that is one and the quick reply the other at new forums or at forums who have changed thier software. I honestly do wish mybb would do away with them at the core or make it a option in acp to turn on and off like most others ( except phpbb i think?? ) have done. Doesnt matter anyways as i believe this one is already in the ideas section. Just my thoughts on it anyways. not a biggie to me.

It's just habit I guess. I mean I don't have to scroll the alway to the bottom or the top. I mean it's right there in the post I'm reading to make a new post.

I prefer it when people quote whenever they are replying to a certain poster and not the topic itself.
Plus, it helps a bit when everyone has x posts per page.
Not everyone is the same.
