How long did it take to do give or take 5%? :p
Mmm... 1.2 was released on 2nd Sep 06, let's say they started developing 1.4 that day. It was...
errr.. 120+365+23=508 days ago
so it's 95% done... 508 divided by 95 gives around 5.3 days for one percent
and we have 5% to go now... which is 5.3*5 = 26.5 days... so... the full beta will start on 23 Jan (today) + 26.5 days = 18 Feb, 12:00! Yay!
Just kidding, man
This... actually isn't a bad guess. o.O

I think we're inclined to think that because a bit of work actually went into coming up with the date.
Such a post gives me tingles up and down my spine..
Edit: I didn't know you could use size=0 :\
Size 0? That can't exist?
18th February? Wow
That's sort of soon, probably because the scale I'm using includes my coursework deadline date

That might be true in most cases as in the last 20% there is likely to be bugs found as functionality increases etc. But we've already done some beta testing to help iron out the bugs, so maybe it won't be quite the same.
what time 1.4 beta will start users?

It was meant as a joke
Good luck with the testing - looking forward to see 1.4
