Maybe, you could add a "wage" and/or a "boss user" feature, which I will briefly describe below:

Wages: Instead of (only) earning money by posting, the user gets a certain wage, which can be set alongside with how often it is given (daily, weekly, monthly or annually) by admins and boss users.
Boss users: Users flagged as "bosses" of certain users can control their wages. A boss user can either be boss of all users or of only specific ones.

For "wages", you could use this module: http://mybbhacks.zingaburga.com/showthread.php?tid=83

There isn't anything which can act as "bosses", except admins.

Any idea when a version compatible with v1.4 will be released?

but I know is not that simple, it´s a very complex Mod
