I've pushed a fix to GitHub on the maintenance branch for your issue. You can download the package here:

You don't have to deactivate or anything; just overwrite the files— or if it is easier, the only file that changed was
inc/plugins/MentionMe/alerts.php

Second, sorry for my english. I am from Austria.
I have a question: In my board any user has multiple accounts, because it's an Role Play Game. So is there any chance that not only the account who got mentioned gets the notification of the alert, but also any attached account?

No, I'm afraid there isn't. Maybe you could do something custom just for your board, but there would need to be some way to keep track of which accounts were linked to the same person.

Thank you for your quick replay, I understand!
My original intentions were to go forward with SCEditor/CKEditor integration. My original plan was to try to get mention autocomplete to work in source mode and to work with WYSIWYG mode better— ie. be inserted as a formatted link instead of just text.
With MyBB considering replacing SCEditor, I'm not sure I want to put the time into that.

Fixes:
- a bug where an error occurred when guests tried to use the autocomplete popup
- a bug where if the user had no assigned avatar, the default avatar was not assigned in some cases (fixed by @burnacid)
To upgrade: deactive in ACP, overwrite existing files, and activate in ACP.
