Not sure this is the right place either, but MyBBoost is Shade's project:

https://www.mybboost.com/index.php

Includes both theme related stuff and plugins.  Some paid - some free.

cheers...
Thank you!

How Born mybb?

If you ask this to devs the answer might be "typing vast codes", I guess you should ask management for what you wanna know.
However here is a piece of info:

Hi there. I have heard about mybb for many years but I have never thought about how it was born. Thanks for the info
I don’t think many of current staff members were here when the project was born Toungue
For Developers,
@Omar G. ig you can answer this question that would be great.
Is MyBB compatible with Php 8.2 I previously used MyBB and it did not work. I want to have a forum for my site, but I want to have it fully functional.
We rely on people reporting issues with PHP versions. Then we attempt to fix as many issues as possible between maintenance releases.

This being said, you can be assured that as long as you stick to the latest version available, it would mean that most if not all compatibility issues found up to that point would have been fixed.

All the projects I run are under PHP 8.2

TLDR; I would say yes, MyBB is compatible with PHP 8.2 and found issues are being fixed between maintenances.

On the other hand, plugins might be quite a bit more difficult to deal with regarding PHP 8(.2). Some plugins announce their PHP8 compatibility. For the rest, perhaps you could check the last update for each plugin to try to guess if they are PHP8 compatible and compare that date with the release of the PHP version that your server uses :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PHP#Release_history

Overall, plugins are an essential part of MyBB and most people that find issues with MyBB and PHP8 are likely to find such issues because of some plugin.

If you find any issue with the core and PHP8 you can open a support thread, and we will attempt to provide the fix for it. If you find an issue with any plugin, you can open a support thread and perhaps the community will be able to assist you with it.
