When you close it logout on me.
where is the problem?

I want to be constantly log in.

You are using Opera correct? Have you tried this on another browser? In Opera you can choose whether to clear cache etc on exit. If you have that option turned on then you will always have to log back in using Opera.

I go through this, they will not remember.

But when I go through this, then you want.

Why?

In both check "Remember Me"...
I tried all of that, but nothing's working. Sad

I'm a little confused on some things though. I went to the file manager, found the settings thing, but it only allowed me to download. So I did, and edited it on my computer. Also, how do you edit it from general configuration?

I'm using Lazbits.
Scenario: my forum is not at root level (my forum is here http://~/forum) and I recently changed hosts.

I can only login via ~/forum/admin but not via the usual login. The problem is in the cookie path but I don't know what to set it to for my domain.

Assume my domain is http://mysite.net/myforum
What should the cookie path be for that?

What is your actual site URL?

I think this will work:
" If your URL is http://www.example.com/myforum/, your settings should be:
Cookie Domain: .example.com
Cookie Path: /myforum/
"

I'll try and it and report back!

edit: Worked! Thanks for everything!
The user login sessions in our forum aren't maintained in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Users are forced to re-login each time to the forum even though the "Remember Me" option is checked. We've tested in Google Chrome in Windows and Linux, Konquerer in Linux, and the sessions are maintained properly in both of those. However, in any version of Internet Explorer or Firefox in any OS, the sessions are lost.

The following are the complete details of our forum:
URL: Never Die'58
Installation: New Of MyBB 1.6
Test user account: MyBBTest/password
Template: Royal Red
Plugins: Tapatalk, A2Detector, Akismet, Stop Forum Spam, and a couple of others. But the issue was present before these plugins were installed.

We've browsed through the official MyBB Community threads for various resolutions but none have been able to help us. Here's the key lines from our settings.php file:

Quote:$settings['cookiedomain'] = ".neverdie58.com";
$settings['cookiepath'] = "/community/";
$settings['cookieprefix'] = "";

The settings.php file itself has a CHMOD of 666 and is completely accessible. I've cross-verified the settings with the database and the DB values are exactly the same as above.

The following cookies are being set by our forum:
Quote:mybb[lastvisit] (1 year)
mybb[lastactive] (1 year)
loginattempts (1 year)
mybbuser (At end of session)
sid (At end of session)
adminsid (1 year)

The Firefox history settings is set to "Remember History", and is working fine with all other websites (including the MyBB Official Forums).

We're completely lost for ideas right now and any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey the treat worked but i not a admin anymore how do iget these back
My forum was working just fine yesterday, but now today no one can log in. The only place I can login into is Admin CP and when I do, I land on the main page of admin. However when I try to navigate in another page in admin, I am asked to relogin and after I do, I am brought to the index page of the forum. This also happens if I click "View forum"
There is way to log to see the forum for any users. I did make the change to the settings php in inc and when I did that, I could get into the ACP and click to the configuration page. However when I tried to save the changes, it brings me to the log in page and it will not let me login, it just displays that page after every attempt.
If I try to log in to see the forum, I first see the "thank you for logging in page" (member.php) but then it brings me to the index page and I am not logged in.

I then tried the delete and regenerate the settings.php approach. The file did regenerate. But once again when I tried to save the settings on the configuration page, it brings me to the login page and that page recycles like it did above.

The permissions are set to 666 on the settings file. The only plugin I have installed lately is stopforumspam. I suspected maybe it could be that, though this did not start right after installing that -- a day or 2 later. Still I went ahead and deleted both the stopforumspam plugin and the sf-log file. I tried all the settings fixes again after that to no avail - same cycle.

I will mention recently when you clicked on the logo and on the index page navigation link, you would get an error - the forum would send you to suckerforum.info/forum//forum/index.php which does not exist. That started a week or so ago. I do not know if it could related. I tried to search it here but search resolves //forum to forum.

Do you see anything glaringly wrong?

I appreciate any help

There is no logging in whatsoever to see the forum. The beginning of this thread mentions a settings file in inc, but the post is from 2008. I searched around in this thread and did not see where Mybb was upgraded to no longer use this file, but maybe I missed it. OTH there was not one n the Mybb upload file so I am thinking it is no longer necessary. Should I have a settings file in inc? And do you see anything glaringly wrong?
