sorry man, I have no idea. that is a generic facebook error.

are you comfortable coding or messing with the files if I give you what to change so we can debug?

first, lets start off by resetting the new forum to the new app IDs, keys, tokens, etc.

then, make sure the old working site still works
Yep, comfortable with messing with the filesa, not very good at programming from scratch myself, but can generally figure out bad syntax and such.

I have already reset everything in the new forum. I got the same error first time I saved the setting again, then on clicking back and resaving they saved fine, which doesn't make much sense to me.

So, what would you like me to do next?
can i have the links sent as bit.ly
facebook blocked certain free hosts and domains recently, they support bit.ly so i can use them in the feed posting

I will have to think about it. it may be easier if you PM your email address and I can then send you a file rather than you making edits.

Bit.ly support is built-in and can be applied independently to twitter and facebook updates
thanks pavemen, 1.4.3 is great Smile
Hello,

I'm failing to set up MyBBPublisher for twitter. After reading instructions in other posts in this threads I think I've setup the settings correctly. When I activate the plugin I see the twitter icon in the forums I want to export. But when I post a new thread nothing happens, it does not get posted to twitter Sad

A screenshot of my settings is in:

http://sistemas.ing.ula.ve/~demian/scree...tingsA.png

I took Consumer Key and Consumer Secret from here:

http://sistemas.ing.ula.ve/~demian/scree...tings1.png

...and copied Access Token and Access Token Secret from here:

http://sistemas.ing.ula.ve/~demian/scree...tings2.png

I also think the settings of the application are correct as shown here:

http://sistemas.ing.ula.ve/~demian/scree...tings3.png

Looking around in my mybb settings I see there is something in "Tools & Maintenance->Cache Manager->mybbpublisher_errors_tw", it's meaningless to me, but might be important, so it's here:

http://sistemas.ing.ula.ve/~demian/scree.../error.png

I'm using mybb 1.4.13 and MyBBPublisher v1.4.2.

If any one would like to help me, I'm clueless here.

Thanks in advance Smile
when you go to http://twitter.com/settings/connections can you see your application listed and if so, do you see "Revoke Access" under it? if not, what is there?

Hi pavemen,

Yes, I see exactly what you say: it's listed and I can see the "Revoke Access" under it, here is the screenshot:

OK pavemen, after seeing piojosnos mention the Twitter icon, I realized that the icons weren't showing up at all in my forum and decided to play around with the plugin a bit more.

I tried changing the forums to post from between inclusive and exclusive, but that did nothing. Then I tried adding a couple of forum id's and on saving the icons appeared, but the function was backwards: the forums that should not post had the icons, and the ones that were supposed to post did not.

When I removed the forum id's the icons were still there if the list was set to inclusive, for all forums, and if I set it to exclusive there were no icons. So it seems that for some reason the radio buttons work oppposite of how they should.

Anyway, I posted a test thread in a forum that had the icons and it posted to both Twitter and Facebook just fine.

But, when I deleted the test post, it was not removed from Twitter or Facebook.

Still weird, and not working like it does in my other forums, but at least its posting now.
i will test is some more. it seems to be working on my site, but i have not messed with the forum/icon settings in a while since they were always working for me
