I'll take a look at it soon. I'm just trying to get through the busy weekend. Smile
Hi guys,

Thanks for the effort you guys put forth on these support forums. Smile

I just upgraded from 1.2.12 to 1.4.4. I got through all the cookie domain issues covered in the upgrade instructions and in this thread, but I still have an issue logging in to my ACP.

I use an SSL connection for my ACP logins, and the ACP login domain is a different domain than my forum domain and cookie domain. I use www.fuel-saver.org as my forum domain and cookie domain. But when logging into the ACP I use https://www.fuelsaver-mpg.com/fuel-saver...directory/...

The ssl cert is for the parent domain, and my forum's domain is an add-on domain. Now I had the same setup before upgrading, and the 1.2.12 didn't have a problem with this path for the ACP. But now I'm unable to stay logged in to the ACP unless I change the path to use the same domain as the rest of the forum (www.fuel-saver.org). Unfortunately it won't log on with https on this domain, and is therefore insecure.

It seems like there's a place to set the ACP's ssl or https address, but I couldn't find it. There should be a way to set a cookie domain for the ACP. Does anyone know how this is supposed to get done?

Thanks.
Well if your admin directory is in a different place to your forums, I don't know how you can set it up...
Oh, no. Sorry I wasn't clear.

The directory structure is like this:

/main_domain/add_on_domain/renamed_admin/(admin files & dirs)

I have an ssl cert for a domain that uses /main_domain/ as it's directory.

I have my forum in /add_on_domain/

I access my forum with it's own domain name that points to /add_on_domain. But when I want to use my ssl to access my admin directory, I use:
https://www.main_domain.com/add_on_domai...med_admin/

This is pretty normal. I think it's common for guys that don't have a separate ssl for their forum's domain. Shared certificates need to be set up this way too. Also, my pre-upgrade installation worked this way fine. It stopped working after the upgrade.

Now when I login using the parent domain and ssl, I get access to a menu. When I select an item, (such as the configuration screen), I get a new login prompt. If I login again, I then get the screen I last asked for, but when I select a sub menu, I then get a login prompt again.

However, if I don't use ssl, and login using http://www.add_on_domain.org/admin_dir/ everything works normally.
ok this is so werid. i can log into my admin panel just find, but everytime i log into the boards and get return to the main board page, i get logout again.

Do you have a test account we can use to see if we can get it to happen to us?

Indeed, it does log you back out. Check your cookie settings in the admin cp.
