Read that it needed to be absolute path to forums... /forums/
Yes, I'm asking if you actually need the prefix, it's generally not needed. Remove that, clear your browser cookies, try again.

oh yeah i think i need it, i have another forum on a subdomain of that domain.
the test forum for the plugins im writing.
Isn't that in a different directory though?? It shouldn't be necessary even then because the domain/path would be different. Have you tried removing it and seeing if it works then??

I made this edit before you replied the second time, sorry.
I installed the forums on my site yesterday and it worked great all day. Today I go to log in and everytime I do it gives me the message that you are being taken back to where you came like normal but it doesnt log me in. Im still a guest. When I log into the admin panel it logs me in but as soon as I try to make a change or move to another page it prompts me for another log in. I enter it and no changes have been made. Help!
Download and reupload a new copy of ./inc/languages/english/global.lang.php, looks like you've edited it in notepad.
