Yes. The plugin has a separate upgrade script to bring things up to 1.3.4 (when versioning was initiated) and then complete the update to 1.4.
As with anything it could have bugs so you should always test when possible before updating a live site.
Does that mean i have to upgrade to 1.3.4 first and then to 1.4 ?

i realy think that 1.4 have big bug when create custom box, i just install it on my test forum same thing any codes not work, codepress have not do anything with that, i try it with and without codepress its same thing, custom box not works
It is working for me on my forum.
I am not saying that you aren't having problems or that they're not real, I just can't find those problems or recreate them.
You gave me your test code and it worked fine on my local host and a live test site
I think that you have errors in your custom box HTML and those are causing issues but perhaps I am wrong. Certainly if there is a bug someone else will report it as well . . .

Okay go back to the custom box you created in ACP and edit it . . . check the contents and make sure they are the same. (I mean make sure it was saved correctly and no garbage)
If there are errors correct them and save again. (delete 's)
Check it again. If there are errors then report them here (as that would certainly mean that save feature is malfunctioning)
And could you perhaps post the HTML (view page source) for the screen you gave me (index.php)?? (or you may PM it if you prefer)
If there is a bug I will try my best to fix it.
